INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
DANA 60 CUSTOM STEERING ARM
This steering arm is designed to be installed on top of the passenger side steering knuckle. The arm faces forward, with the tapered hole facing up. No special tools are required for installation.
First, remove the four ½ diameter bolts that hold the upper trunnion cap in place. When you remove the cap, you will see a small spring protruding from the center of the knuckle, there is no reason to remove it unless you want to inspect the upper trunnion bushing. Wipe the top of the knuckle clean and apply some silicone or a new gasket, which ever you prefer. Then install the new trunnion cap supplies in the kit, followed by the steering arm, 4 tapered locking split cones, 4 lock washers and 4 new 1/2 NF grade 8. bolts.
Remember, the tapered hole faces up. Install your drag link and tighten.
Note: Do not be concerned about the limited clearance between the drag link and leaf spring when installing this kit on a Dana 60 equipped Quadravan. There will be no interference.
It is not necessary to take your truck to the alignment shop after installing the cross steering arm, unless you have disturbed the tie rod assembly. To center the steering wheel, rotate the sleeve assembly clockwise or counter clockwise to make your adjustments. After your steering wheel is where you want it, tighten the clamps on the adjusting sleeve.
