To whom it may concern at Pathfinder,

I must Thank You very much for all the valuable information I have found on your website. I didn't realize just what I had bought.

I am in a wheelchair and live in northern Michigan. My daily driver is an 05 GMC 3500 Savana Quigley converted 4x4, with all the needed wheelchair adaptations. I am very happy with this van, it is a must for all the snow we get. With not yet 50,000 miles on it and the paint in decent shape I hate taking it off road.

I had been looking for another 4x4 that would be wheelchair compatible and would be more suited for trail driving and maybe a mud bog or two.

Just down the road from me last fall, my friend spotted a Ford 4X4 van for sale.

It turned out to be an original 1979 E250 Pathfinder Quadravan. With all the good stuff. 351 Windsor BBL, dual Flow Master exhaust, C-6 trans, with that special transfer case adapter and the N.P.205 on the end of it. It does not use a C.V. joint on the front drive shaft, I love that feature.

Rear Dana 60 with a 4:10 axle ratio. Front is the Dana 44 with the G.M. brake rotors and calipers, the Spicier "big hubs", matching 4:10 axle ratio. It  has the original QUADRAVAN LOGO. casted in the front lockouts. The big knob type I believe made by the Selectro Co., for Pathfinder. Correct me if I am wrong about the lockout hubs.

The body is a bit rusty, but mostly on the floor and around the wheel wells.

It also came with a Ramsey 8000 L.B. winch and 33 x 13 16, Super Swamper's TSL's on aluminum wheels. No telling how many miles on this van, but it is still runs strong. So what does a guy in a wheelchair do with such a classic find?

With the original Pathfinder 4" lift and adding a 4 inch (body lift), a couple U-Joints to reconnect the steering shaft back to the steering box, cut the rust off the wheel wells, lengthening the rear of the sliding side door hinge, 3" for (tire clearance)so the sliding door opens all the way, a $100.00 eBay wheelchair lift, $45.00 set of hand controls from eBay and a set of 38.5 x 14 16.5 Super Swamper TSL's to top it off. The van's new name is Bad Influence.

Future plans, find another body, a pair of Detroit Lockers,a snorkel kit for the air intake, for deep water, a Dana 60 front axle with leaf springs upgrade is needed.

Attached are couple pic.s  if you have some room on your website.

I want to Thank You again, for all of this valuable info. you have provided on your website. I would never had known what just what I have found. Your tie rod I.D. chart and your line of replacement parts are so handy

Thanks for your time and keep up the great work on your website.
