Many Pathfinder owners have had their vans for a very long time and know every detail
about them. But some vans have had hard lives, and have had many modifications, repairs and upgrades, making a new owner unsure of what he or she has. There were times when the design of a van was changed
mid year. Sometimes adding confusion as to what drive train the vehicle was built. Many Pathfinder vans have fallen prey to the elements and were rusted beyond use. Many vans have been
resurrected by having the drive train from one van installed into another. And in many cases the body of an older or newer van was installed on the chassis of a donor Pathfinder van..
Pathfinder also created special vehicles for special customers, manual transmission conversions, heavier than standard axle upgrades etc. Some vans were home built using surplus Pathfinder and pick-up
parts. The following guidelines list the most common differences between different production years. There are many details which are not listed, I have listed only those major details that will help
you to distinguish what era of van or drive train you have. Go to the navigation buttons in the left margin, to view the information specific to you van. |
